Healios is shortlisted for UK’s prestigious HSJ Awards

Healios is thrilled to be part of a bid that has been shortlisted in the ‘CCG/LA Commissioning for Carers’ category of the prestigious Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards in partnership with Surrey Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Collaborative.

Healios partnered with Surrey in 2015 to support carers of those affected by mental illness. Healios’ transformative digital service is a key component of Surrey’s application, demonstrating new ways for carers of all ages to access high-quality clinical interventions.

The HSJ Awards, now in their 35th year, are the most sought after accolade in British healthcare that recognises, celebrates, and promotes the best achievements in the NHS.

Healios’ carers project with Surrey has demonstrated an integrated partnership approach involving multiple organisations that have reached nearly 30,000 carers in one year. With Healios, carers received tailored clinical interventions through an online interactive platform, allowing families and carers to conveniently access sessions anywhere with an internet connection. The project is now fully recruited with interim results showing a significant improvement in carer mental wellbeing, quality of life and overall family functioning, as well as improvements in the health of those affected by mental illness.

Debbie Hustings, Partnership Manager for Carers at Guildford & Waverley, East Surrey and Surrey Downs CCG said, “The Surrey CCG collaborative have been delighted to see the impact this service has had over the past twelve months. The outcomes have been extremely positive. Carers have fed back to the commissioners how much they value this service which allows them to receive support and training from the comfort of their own home. Carers Trust estimate that 1 in 4 carers are caring for someone with a mental health condition. The Healios service provides carers with a personalised and tailored intervention which helps support them in their caring role.”

Richard Andrews, Founder and Chairman of Healios said, “It’s a pleasure to partner with Surrey on this project that has been truly focussed on creating the best opportunity for carers to get the support they need. We’re extremely proud of the many families and carers lives we’ve touched through this programme and are honoured to be shortlisted for this award. It’s a great feeling to be recognised by the HSJ for something that, at Healios, we see as fundamental to providing the best treatment - supporting the families and carers throughout the whole treatment journey.”
