Reimagining the way CYP living with a mental illness access treatment

Richard Andrews, Founder and Chairman of Healios, will present at NHS England’s South East Clinical Network ‘Harnessing digital technologies to improve children and young people’s mental health’ conference on 13th September 2016.

The conference will showcase how technology and innovative service design can provide the catalyst for change to support new and sustainable ways of working, enabling mental health professionals to deliver better care for children and young people affected by mental health challenges.

Andrews will speak on the topic of ‘Creating a unique digital experience: A family centric treatment model for children and young people’, which covers how Healios is reimagining the way children and young people access and receive evidence-based psychological therapies by including the whole family to achieve the best possible outcomes. Coupling family centricity with tailored technologies, Healios delivers a completely new interactive experience to increase engagement with therapy - one that marks a clear change in each child and young person’s treatment journey. Healios makes each journey tangible by providing real-time dashboards, featuring progress against personal and therapeutic goals, accessible online to the child/young person, family members and clinicians.

Prior to Healios, families had to travel to a clinician, managing differing schedules, increasing stress and often resulting in conflicts with other daily responsibilities such as work, childcare and school. Improving accessibility continues to grow in importance as the new access and waiting times standards are due to impact children and young people’s services from April 2017.
