Healios is attending today the NHS Test Beds Innovation Exhibition at the Kia Oval in London on Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Healios will feature two innovative digital intervention services aimed to optimise care for those affected by mental illness and diabetes.
In October 2014, NHS England published the NHS Five Year Forward View, outlining the need to undertake research and apply innovation by developing new test bed sites for global innovators. Test bed sites are likely to be local groups of commissioners and providers, including NHS providers from all sectors. The Test beds will act as a live trial for innovations that integrate new technologies and other novel approaches with the aim of offering the prospect of better care, and better patient experience of care, at the same or lower overall cost.
NHS England, in partnership with the Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs), and HM Government, has invited Healios, among other innovators, to attend the Innovation Exhibition with the opportunity to network and learn more about the challenges and priorities of potential NHS test bed sites. The exhibition is part of the four-stage selection process, to be announced in December 2015. Approximately five test beds will be selected out of the hundreds of applications to proceed with the initiative.
Healios’ innovative Test bed project is focused on transforming how family intervention and behavioural change techniques, in mental illness and diabetes, are delivered beyond treatment team walls into the homes using digital technologies to maximise patient and family outcomes.
Richard Andrews, Founder and Chairman of Healios said, “We are excited to attend the exhibition and look forward to sharing our innovations with the NHS test bed site teams. Our digital innovations will not only improve outcomes for the patient and family, but will also reduce hospital readmissions to drive cost savings for the NHS, making Healios an ideal candidate for this program. “
