Who we are
Changing lives through access to care
Who we are
Across the UK, one in four children have a mental health condition and an estimated 15–20% of the population is neurodivergent. At Healios, we’re increasing access to timely, evidence-based neurodevelopmental and mental health support so more children, young people, adults and families can thrive.
By pairing expert clinicians with clients through innovative technology, we’re reimagining the care experience. Our purpose-built secure clinical platform connects individuals and families with their team of experts. We’ve delivered over 400,000 clinical sessions and accepted more than 75,000 referrals from healthcare providers across the UK. Most importantly, our services are making a real difference with 91% of families recommending Healios.
We’re proud to work in partnership with over 60% of England’s NHS mental health local services and health boards in England and Wales, and more than half of mainland Health Boards in Scotland, to increase capacity and reduce wait times for local communities.
Our story
Healios was founded in 2013 with a mission to transform mental healthcare after recognising the gaps in existing support systems. Our approach emphasises the importance of including a person’s support network in their care, which has helped Healios become a leading provider of online neurodevelopmental and mental health services.
Over the years, our services have expanded to meet the evolving needs of children, young people and adults across the UK. Our commitment to accessibility has been with us from the beginning, but the way we deliver on that mission has evolved over time. Because mental health challenges often start in childhood, we realised we could make the biggest impact by working directly with children, young people and those who support them, whether that’s family, caregivers or friends. Over time, we also saw growing demand for adult support, so we expanded our services to include adult care. Today, we work in partnership with the NHS and Health Boards to deliver a range of autism, ADHD and mental health services for children aged six and above, young people and adults.
Our expert team is remote based, with most of our clinical work delivered online. With a culture of innovation and making a difference, we’re always exploring new ways to remove barriers to care to help more individuals and families thrive and access quality support when they need it most.
Our connection with Melios
In 2023, we launched our sister company, Melios offering fast, private autism and ADHD assessments and support. Melios is part of the Healios family sharing our clinical expertise, digital platform and commitment to safe, person-centred care.
While Healios delivers NHS-funded services, Melios gives individuals and families the option to access support quickly and without a referral on a private fee basis.
Looking ahead, we’re committed to expanding our services and strengthening our needs-led approach so more people can access life-changing support.
