For Employers

Workplace-supported private autism and ADHD assessments for employees

More employers are recognising that employees may be living with undiagnosed autism or ADHD. Many are skilled and committed, but may be finding work or everyday life harder than it needs to be.

Long waiting lists, past experiences of not being believed, and uncertainty about where to turn can make it difficult for people to ask for help. Supporting access to assessment can offer clarity sooner – and help employees make informed choices about what support might help next.

Workplace-supported routes are delivered through Melios, our dedicated private service within the Healios family. The service is designed to be needs-led, delivered online, and shaped around what feels manageable for each person.

When this route may be helpful if you:

  • have employees waiting a long time for an assessment
  • want a clearer route to assessment as part of wellbeing or neurodiversity support
  • are noticing patterns such as burnout, overwhelm or performance strain where neurodivergence may be a factor
  • want an option that supports employees earlier, without asking them to navigate the process alone

Frequently asked questions for employers

Do we need a formal contract in place before we offer this to employees?

We will discuss your needs and agree the most appropriate arrangement for your organisation. In some cases this may involve a formal agreement, particularly if you expect to fund a larger number of assessments or require specific reporting.

How is billing handled for employer-funded assessments?

There are different options, such as invoicing the organisation directly for each completed assessment or agreeing a different funding structure. We will talk through what works best for you when you contact us. Employees do not need to pay upfront if the assessment is funded by the organisation.

Will a private diagnosis be recognised by occupational health or HR?

Assessment reports are written so that professionals can understand an individual’s needs and consider appropriate support or adjustments. Each organisation and occupational health provider has its own policies, but a clear, clinically robust assessment can support your internal processes

What if an employee does not want to share their report with us?

Employees remain in control of their own clinical information. They are not required to share their report with you, even if the organisation has funded the assessment. However, many people choose to share at least part of their report so they can access adjustments or support at work. We encourage employees to think about what feels right for them.
