Private assessments

Private assessments via Melios

Alongside our NHS work, we offer a private route for online autism and ADHD assessments and support through Melios, our dedicated private service within the Healios family.

Melios focuses on private online autism and ADHD assessments and post-diagnostic support for children, young people and adults across the UK, with appointments tailored to each person’s needs. It also supports workplaces that want to fund assessments for employees as part of their wellbeing or neurodiversity approach.

What is Melios?

Melios is the private service within the Healios family for people and organisations who want a more personalised route to assessment and support.

Who is Melios for?

Melios may be the right route if you recognise yourself in one of these groups:

    Parents

    • You are looking for a private autism or ADHD assessment for your child or teenager
    • Your child is on a long NHS waiting list and you want clarity sooner
    • You want a tailored assessment and a clear report you can share with school, your GP or other services
    • You would value post-diagnostic support to help you understand the outcome and plan next steps

    Adults

    • You are seeking a private autism or ADHD assessment for yourself
    • You have waited a long time for an NHS assessment or have felt dismissed in the past
    • You want a personalised assessment that helps you make sense of your experiences (including at work or in study), followed by a clear report and practical next steps
    • You would value post-diagnostic support to talk through what the outcome means and what to do next

    Workplaces

    • You want a clear, clinically governed route to adult assessment and post-diagnostic support
    • You want an option that supports employees earlier, without asking them to navigate the process alone
    • You need a clear separation between clinical privacy and the information your organisation receives.

    What makes Melios distinct

    • Built on the same clinical governance and safeguarding approach that underpins our NHS work
    • Secure, fully online delivery across the UK, designed for privacy and accessibility
    • Needs-led, clinician-led assessments focused on real life (not box-ticking)
    • Clear reports in plain English with practical, actionable recommendations
    • Post-diagnostic support to help people understand outcomes and plan next steps
    • Flexible appointments shaped around the individual (pace, breaks, sensory and communication needs)

Healios is typically accessed via NHS referrals and pathways. Melios offers a private route with flexible appointments and a more personalised experience.

What can you expect from Melios?

When you continue to the Melios website, you’ll see how the service is designed to be personalised before, during and after the assessment.

    Melios offers:

    • Tailored online appointments – flexibility around timing, breaks, sensory needs and communication preferences
    • Evidence-based care – assessments and support aligned with NICE guidance
    • In-depth, needs-led assessments – focused on strengths, challenges and everyday life
    • Clear written reports – outcome explained in plain language, with practical recommendations for home, work or study
    • Post-diagnostic support and guidance – space to understand the outcome and agree next steps
    • Private treatment and support options that reflect our Integrated Treatment Services (ITS)
    • Outcome follow-up meeting – a session to go through the outcome, answer questions and agree next steps

All appointments take place online using the same secure digital platform as Healios. Clinical privacy is protected in the same way as our NHS work, and you remain in control of your own information.

You might see the Melios name and branding, but the service remains part of the wider Healios group.

    When should you choose Melios?

Melios may be particularly helpful if:

    • you prefer to see appointment availability and booking options up front
    • you want a more flexible, personalised assessment and support experience
    • you are an employer and wish to fund private assessments for employees
    • you cannot access Healios through local NHS services or Right to Choose
    • you do not want to wait for local NHS waiting lists
